Blogs can be still be worthwhile for amateur bloggers. A blog designed for the entertainment of your circle of friends and family is still a great way to keep in touch. People are curious creatures and they are often curious about the goings on with you.

This could be a blog or a splash/squeeze page. There are a lot of features that companies tell us that they want to help moderate and control their networks better. The other part of it is just is making Yammer an increasingly good substitute for email. There are still some things that email does very well. But what we want to do is extend the use cases for Yammer so that, over time, you’ll just use email for external communications or certain sorts of one-on-one conversations.
We really want to shift all company group conversations into Yammer. David Hale, the UGA beat writer for the Macon Telegraph, has his own blog as well and it is getting rave reviews from the Georgia community. Hale usually writes feature stories for the print (and online) edition of the paper, but he will also put up the random tidbits that didn’t make the cut on his personal blog.
